Maha Deputy CM tells purushottam Jagtap not to use Ajit Pawar’s name, photo in someshwar sugar election

Baramati, Oct 4 (UNI) The political battle for the election to the Someshwar Cooperative Sugar Factory in Baramati taluka has intensified with the entry of a rebel faction led by incumbent chairman Purushottam Jagtap, a close associate of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The election campaign was formally launched with the traditional breaking of the coconut, following which Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar made a strong statement apparently directed at Jagtap. She asked him not to use Ajit Pawar’s name or photograph for the election campaign and challenged him to contest the poll on the strength of his own work and political standing.
The development assumes significance as the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is already divided into two factions. Jagtap’s decision to adopt a separate stand has added to the challenges before the Ajit Pawar-led NCP in the Someshwar factory election.
