Maha: Shiv Sena ministers protest fund cuts, cites audiogate spat with BJP

Mumbai, Oct 27 (UNI) Deep internal rifts spilt into the open during the Maharashtra Cabinet meeting today, when Shiv Sena ministers loyal to Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde mounted a fierce protest over unfair fund allocation by Finance officials.
The stormy session also witnessed heated exchanges over a controversial audio clip released by Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil, sparking fresh political friction between coalition allies Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to sources, ministers belonging to the Shinde faction expressed strong displeasure before the Chief Minister over the alleged "high-handedness" of Finance Department officials. Raising serious questions over the bureaucracy's conduct, the ministers demanded to know who authorised officials to arbitrarily prune and cut funds that had already been sanctioned by the state government. Demanding strict disciplinary action against the erring bureaucrats, the ministers urged the Chief Minister to intervene immediately.
The Cabinet meeting was further rocked by the fallout from the alleged audio clip leaked by Jarange Patil. In the audio clip, individuals purportedly associated with the BJP claimed that the party had paid Rs 500 crore to Eknath Shinde to "manage" the Maratha activist.
Jarange Patil had publicly challenged Deputy Chief Minister Shinde over the clip, demanding a clarification on whether he accepted the Rs 500 crore and questioning if the BJP was plotting against him or Shinde.
Deputy Chief Minister Shinde categorically rejected the allegations, clarifying that he had no connection to the audio clip and denied receiving any such money.
However, the controversy triggered a sharp war of words between the ruling allies. Senior Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam launched a scathing attack on the BJP over the clip, drawing swift retaliation from BJP leaders Pravin Darekar and Prasad Lad.
The verbal duel between leaders of both parties echoed strongly inside the Cabinet room, with Shinde faction ministers aggressively raising the issue during the deliberations. UNI NEP NST SS
