Aaditya Thackeray’s name included in CBI FIR after Amit Shah’s Mumbai visit: Sanjay Raut Inbox

Mumbai, Sep 15 (UNI) Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP and chief Sena spokesperson, Sanjay Raut, today alleged that Sena MLA Aaditya Thackeray's name was included in the CBI FIR during the visit of union Home Minister Amit Shah to Mumbai.
“The Bombay High Court order clearly said that unless allegations are proved with evidence, nobody can be named as an accused in any FIR. The original FIR is against unknown persons. But after two leaders (Eknath Shinde and union Home Minister Amit Shah) had a meeting at Sahyadri Guest House two days ago, Aaditya Thackeray’s name was included in the FIR,” Raut told media persons.
“How come only one page of the FIR got leaked to the press? All this is the result of Eknath Shinde meeting Amit Shah at Sahyadri Guest House. This is related to the Supreme Court case regarding the Shiv Sena election symbol. If the Supreme Court gives the right verdict in the election symbol case, a political realignment is likely in Maharashtra which will influence the entire country. This could be a move to counter such a possibility,” he indicated.
Raut said that it is not possible to question the integrity of the Mumbai police since the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena is not in power and the police department works directly under Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who is also the Home minister of the state. He said that it was during the rule of the BJP government, under Fadnavis, that the Disha Salian case was investigated by the Mumbai police, which gave a closure report that Aaditya Thackeray is not involved in the said case.
“However, due to political motivations, the matter gets raked up again and again. This has become a political battle. There is a political conspiracy to tarnish the image of the Thackeray family being orchestrated from Delhi. We will fight such attempts. The same people behind this conspiracy run similar campaigns against Sonia Gandhi. They ran similar campaigns against the DMK, Naveen Patnaik and Mamata Banerjee as well. They have now begun a campaign to target the Thackeray family,” he claimed.
Clarifying that his party has never demanded that there should not be any investigation, Raut said that some forces are are afraid that if the Supreme Court gives an impartial verdict in the election symbol case, as per the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution of India, then there will be a political realignment in Maharashtra, which may bring the Thackeray family back into political prominence once again.
“There is also another aspect behind this campaign. The central government wants to pass the Delimitation Bill which we oppose. They feel that such smear campaigns and allegations could be used to exert pressure on our party to withdraw our opposition to the Delimitation Bill. The other reason why they have begun such a campaign is that Aaditya Thackeray has begun exposing their corruption in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). We will not succumb to such unwarranted political pressure,” he said.
Raut further claimed that the central government is riddled with internal contradictions and is facing the anger of the people, due to which it runs such defamation campaigns based on colourful allegations in order to distract the attention of the people, he added.
