Legal battle launched against noise pollution during Pune Ganeshotsav

Pune, Sep 12 ( UNI): A legal battle has now begun against the rising noise pollution during Ganeshotsav in Pune, with social activist Vidhyanand Bapat taking the initiative with the assistance of legal expert Asim Sarode.
Legal notices have been served on the Maharashtra Director General of Police, Pune Police Commissioner, Pune Municipal Commissioner and the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board.
The notices allege that directions issued by the Supreme Court, Bombay High Court and National Green Tribunal regarding noise pollution, encroachments and traffic congestion are not being properly implemented by the concerned authorities.
