ICWA condemns shooting incident involving Tiger Shroff, seeks security for film industry

Mumbai, Oct 19 (UNI) The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has condemned the shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area and urged the Maharashtra government to take immediate measures to ensure the safety of members of the film industry.
In a statement, AICWA expressed concern over the incident and questioned the safety of celebrities and ordinary citizens in Mumbai.
“Today it is Tiger Shroff. Who is next? When a celebrity is not safe in the heart of Mumbai, how can an ordinary Mumbaikar feel safe?” the association said.
It said repeated incidents targeting members of the film industry were creating an atmosphere of fear and called for concrete measures to strengthen security.
The association also warned against a return to the period when members of the film fraternity faced threats and extortion by underworld syndicates.
AICWA president Subhash Gupta urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take immediate steps to address the concerns raised by the film industry.
The association called for strict legal action against organised crime syndicates, the arrest of those involved in the shooting and the alleged masterminds behind it, and adequate security arrangements for film artists and technicians.
It also sought accountability in cases of security lapses and measures to restore public confidence in law enforcement.
The incident has raised concerns over the safety of members of the film fraternity, the association said.
