Mumbai Police have identified suspects in firing at Tiger Shroff’s vehicle: Fadnavis

Mumbai, Oct 19 (UNI) Mumbai Police have identified the suspects involved in the firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle and traced their links, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, asserting that such incidents would not be tolerated and that nobody would be allowed to openly challenge the police.
Fadnavis was speaking to reporters about the attack on the actor and assured that Mumbai Police would track down all those involved and take strict action against them.
"These people are cowards who hide somewhere and issue threats from there. They do not have the courage to act openly. They are essentially hired operatives who work at the behest of others," the Chief Minister said.
He acknowledged that investigating such cases posed challenges because some of the gangs involved allegedly operated from outside Maharashtra and even from abroad.
The Mumbai Police would coordinate with central investigative agencies to dismantle these networks, he said.
"There is no reason for anyone to fear any gang. We take every threat seriously. The Mumbai Police are a professional force and have repeatedly demonstrated that they will bring criminals involved in such offences to justice,” Fadnavis said.
Describing the incident as serious, the Chief Minister said the government would take all necessary steps in response to the attack.
He also clarified that Tiger Shroff had security arrangements but had left his security personnel behind for certain reasons and was without his security cover when the incident occurred on Sunday evening.
Further details would emerge during the investigation, he added.
Fadnavis said the police had identified the links of the suspects and had already arrested those allegedly operating from within Maharashtra. Efforts were underway to trace and apprehend those operating from other states and foreign locations.
Unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants opened a flurry of gunfire on the actor's car in Mumbai's upscale Juhu area on Sunday evening.
The attack left the actor's driver and a bystander injured, while Tiger Shroff narrowly escaped physical harm. The high-profile incident has sent shockwaves through the entertainment capital.
The investigation into the case has been officially handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch, with over 15 specialised tactical teams deployed to comb the region.
Security has been significantly tightened across celebrity residences in the city.
Three suspects in the firing incident have been detained at Kota railway station in Rajasthan in a joint operation by the Anti-Gangster Task Force and Rajasthan Police, with assistance from Mumbai Police.
The three suspects were intercepted while travelling on a train from Mumbai to Delhi.
