Nodal officers appointed to expedite Adilabad joint-user airport project: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad, Sep 20 (UNI) union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy on Sunday said nodal officers had been appointed by the Ministries of Defence and Civil Aviation to coordinate with the Telangana government and expedite the proposed joint-user airfield (JUA) at Adilabad.
In a post on X, Mr Kishan Reddy said the project envisages an Air Force Training Centre and a joint-user airfield for both civil and defence purposes.
He said the Defence Ministry would develop facilities including trainer aircraft infrastructure, aircraft parking and dispersals, weather shelters, hangars, an operational complex, training facilities and maintenance infrastructure. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) would establish a civil terminal and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) facility.
The project would also include residential and recreational facilities for defence personnel, besides essential engineering infrastructure such as water supply and sanitation.
Mr Kishan Reddy urged the Telangana government to appoint a nodal officer to ensure smooth coordination among all stakeholders and speed up implementation of the project.
