New Delhi, June 23 (UNI) As part of Operation Sindhu, 290 Indian nationals and one Sri Lankan national were evacuated from Iran on a special flight that arrived in New Delhi on Monday evening.
With this, 2,003 Indian nationals have been brought back safely from Iran so far.
The MEA spokesperson said in a post on X:
“Operation Sindhu
“290 Indian nationals & 1 Sri Lankan national were evacuated from Mashhad on a special flight that arrived in New Delhi at 1915 hrs on 23 June.
“With this, 2003 Indian nationals have been brought back safely from Iran so far.”
Earlier, a first batch of 161 Indian nationals evacuated from Israel took off on a flight from Amman, Jordan, for New Delhi.
These passengers were evacuated from Israel and moved to Amman, Jordan, by road. Their flight is set to arrive at 11.30 pm, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
