Op Sindoor a defining moment in Indian military history: TN Guv

Chennai, June 22 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi on Sunday evening described Operation Sindoor as a defining moment in India’s military history.

It was achieved through precision, coordination and swift execution - a mission that not only met

its objective, but also demonstrated the country’s rising indigenous defence capabilities, backed

by political clarity, policy decisiveness, and seamless military execution, he said.

Speaking at a civil reception at the IIT-Madras Research Park to honour the brave personnel of

the armed forces for their extraordinary success in the Operation Sindoor, Mr Ravi said their contribution is a milestone success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ in Indian military history.

He underscored how Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s bold leadership marked a clear shift in

India’s counter-terror doctrine, making it unequivocal that any terror attack on India would be considered an act of war and met with a firm response.

This stance, the Governor said has significantly enhanced the confidence, morale and operational readiness of the armed forces, he added.

Reflecting on Tamil Nadu’s leading role in national defence, he recalled its contributions from the freedom struggle to continued service in the armed forces, underscoring its deep-rooted commitment to the nation.

The Governor also highlighted India’s growing strength in research and innovation, which is steadily advancing its defence capabilities to meet the evolving demands of modern warfare.

The grand civil reception for honouring our Brave Jawans saw mass participation by the civil counterparts, armed forces personnel, eminent personalities from all walks of life, people from the various sections across the state and academicians.
