Op Sindoor: BSF officer who lost leg, ready to guard border again, officers laud courage

Jammu, June 7 (UNI) The Border Security Force Sub-Inspector, Vyas Dev, who lost his leg during "Operation Sindoor", is again ready to perform his duties and guard the border.
Hailing from Himachal Pradesh, BSF S-I, Vyas Dev is posted in the Jammu Frontier, and month ago, when deployed at the Border Outpost in R S Pura, suffered critical injuries when Pakistan fired mortars, artillery shelling, and drone attacks.
Despite heavy cross-border firing, the brave BSF jawans effectively retaliated, and during the operation, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Imtiyaz and Constable Deepak, sacrificed their lives.
SI Vyas however, took control of the LMG and shot down a Pakistani drone. He continued firing at the Pakistani post until their guns fell silent.
After being discharged, BSF SI on Saturday reached the Frontier headquarters in Paloura.
With six months left to his retirement, Vyas Dev, who lost his leg during the operation, said, "I can thousand times sacrifice my legs for the country."
Another brave soldier, Constable Vrij Mohan, who suffered a bullet injury on his face but did not stop giving a befitting reply to the enemy, said, "I will fight till my last breath for my nation."
DIG BSF, Prabhakar Joshi said, "Border Security Force assures every citizen of the country that we are standing tall on borders and they can peacefully sleep in their homes."
"We will effectively respond to any challenge and will not allow the enemy to succeed in their nefarious design," said the DIG and saluted to the jawans who sacrificed in the line of duty and those suffered injuries.
