Politics only during elections, focus on Telangana's development thereafter: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad, May 17 (UNI) Union Minister for Coal and Mines and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy on Saturday stated that politics should be confined to elections, and that post-elections, the focus must shift to the development of Telangana.
Speaking after inaugurating the newly constructed 3.0 MLD Ground Level Surpage Reservoir (GLSR) at SPR Hills in Borabanda, alongside State Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Kishan Reddy said the reservoir would resolve the long-standing drinking water issues faced by residents of Borabanda, Rahmat Nagar, and surrounding colonies.
The Union Minister expressed satisfaction over the completion of the project, noting that it was the result of consistent efforts to bring attention to the drinking water crisis in the area. "For years, people here have suffered due to irregular and inadequate drinking water supply. With this reservoir, their problems have finally been addressed," he said.
Highlighting the need for strategic urban planning, Reddy stressed that Hyderabad’s rapid expansion in recent years has not been matched by a corresponding increase in water supply infrastructure.
He recalled the efforts of former Chief Ministers Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and N T Rama Rao in bringing water from the Godavari and Krishna rivers respectively, to meet the city’s growing needs.
Reaffirming the central government’s support for Telangana’s development, Reddy said, "We are ready to extend full assistance, including for the second phase of the metro project, once the detailed project reports (DPRs) are submitted."
Promoting a collaborative approach, he added, "We do politics only during elections. Beyond that, we are committed to working with the Congress-led state government for the overall development of Telangana. This is a tradition we will continue."
