Pune Police crack down on illegal vehicle modifications for DJ and Dolby Systems

Pune, Sep 22 (UNI) The Pune Police have announced strict action against vehicle owners and organisers who illegally modify vehicles to install DJ and Dolby sound systems during Ganesh immersion processions and other upcoming festivals.
According to the police, vehicles are being structurally altered to accommodate large multi-speaker sound systems. In several cases, multiple layers of speakers, including top, mid and bass units, are mounted on vehicles, creating a wall-like structure. Such modifications involve unauthorised changes to the original design and structure of the vehicles.
The use of such illegally modified vehicles has now been prohibited. Vehicle owners, drivers and festival organisers have been instructed not to bring such vehicles onto roads or use them during processions.
Therefore, the Police Commissioner has directed that any modified vehicle found being used in a procession will be sealed on the spot. The order will remain in force until November 18.
Police officials said special attention will be given to vehicles carrying large sound systems during Ganesh immersion processions and other festive events. If a vehicle is found to have been illegally modified or used in violation of the order, it will be subject to immediate action, including sealing at the spot.
The police have also warned that the responsibility will not be limited to the vehicle owner or driver. Festival organisers found using or permitting such vehicles may also face strict legal action.
Moreover, the move is aimed at preventing unauthorised structural modifications to vehicles and ensuring that processions are conducted in accordance with the applicable rules and safety requirements.
Police have urged festival committees and vehicle owners to comply with the directives and avoid bringing modified DJ or Dolby vehicles onto public roads.
