Rajasthan Gov Haribhau Bagade visits Shivsrushti

Pune, Oct 5 (UNI) Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade on Monday visited Shivsrushti, a historical and cultural project being developed by Maharaja Shivchhatrapati Pratishthan at Ambegaon Budruk in Pune.
Western Maharashtra Prant Sanghchalak Nana Jadhav, Shivsrushti trustees Jagdish Kadam and Vineet Kuber, advisors Manoj Pochat and Sandeep Jadhav, and Shivsrushti administrative officer Anil Pawar and Richa Limaye Girgaonkar were present on the occasion.
The winners of a video-making competition organised to create greater awareness about Shivsrushti among Shivaji Maharaj enthusiasts across Maharashtra were felicitated by Bagade.
Siddhesh Chavan won the first prize, Dheeraj Hemgude secured the second prize, while Samruddhi Mungse stood third. Special mention prizes were awarded to Kadambari Akolkar, Adinath Kanake, Aarush Sharma and Harshada Desai.
Speaking on the occasion, Haribhau Bagde said that Shivsrushti would emerge as a major tourist attraction, drawing visitors who would get an opportunity to understand the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his style of governance.
He recalled the contribution of Babasaheb Purandare, who devoted his life to taking the history of Shivaji Maharaj to households across Maharashtra.
From 1960-61 onwards, Purandare travelled across the state delivering lectures, which helped spread greater awareness about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj among the people.
Expressing his happiness and satisfaction after visiting Shivsrushti, Bagade appreciated the project and said it was important to take the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj—an unparalleled leader—and the story of the establishment of Hindavi Swarajya to the people.

Mumbai, Oct 5 (UNI) Mumbai police released the tribal students and Congress-affiliated National Students union of India (NSUI) leaders on Monday afternoon after Maharashtra State Congress Committee President Harshawardhan Sapkal warned that the Congress will besiege (gherao) 'Varsha' bungalow, which is the official residence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, if the tribal students and NSUI leaders picked up by the police are not released immediately.
