Ramchander Rao offers prayers at Balapur Ganesha

Hyderabad, Sep 20 (UNI) BJP Telangana State President N Ramchander Rao on Sunday visited the renowned Balapur Ganesha pandal in Hyderabad and offered special prayers on the occasion of Ganesh Navaratri.
Speaking to the media, Rao said the Ganesh celebrations in Hyderabad had gained nationwide recognition, with thousands of devotees participating every year.
He said the festival, popularised across the country by Lokmanya Tilak, had become a symbol of unity.
He appreciated the Balapur festival committee for its arrangements and praised this year's pandal, designed on the lines of the Puri Jagannath Temple.
He said he prayed for good rains, prosperity and a bountiful harvest in Telangana and extended Ganesh Navaratri greetings to the people.
On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, Mr Rao said the month-long Seva Sankalpa Abhiyan was being organised across the country from September 17 to October 17, with various service activities, including blood donation and food distribution camps.
He said around 25,000 youths across Telangana had voluntarily donated blood as part of the campaign.
Rao also criticised the Congress for what he termed personal attacks against Prime Minister Modi and his mother, saying opposition parties should focus on constructive politics and national development. UNI VV SAS
