Rampur’s craftsmanship and flavours to take centre stage at UPITS

Rampur, Sep 24 (UNI) Rampur’s rich craftsmanship and distinctive cuisine will gain an international platform at the fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026, being held from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida.
A total of seven prominent industrial and handicraft units from Rampur district have been selected to participate in the mega trade fair, being organised jointly by the state government and India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML).
Under the state government’s flagship ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) scheme, Rampur’s world-famous zari-patchwork, and under the ‘One District One Cuisine’ (ODOC) scheme, its historic Habshi Halwa will be among the main attractions. In addition, three other prominent producers from the district will showcase grass mats, table runners and mentha crystals.
Under the ODOP scheme, a stall has been allotted in Hall No. 9 to showcase Rampur’s traditional zari-zardozi and patchwork crafts to an international audience. Exquisite zari-work and patchwork products will be displayed. Rampur’s zari-patchwork is renowned in India and abroad for its finesse and intricate craftsmanship.
Traditional hand-embroidered products in Hall No. 11 will be on display. The international platform is expected to create opportunities for garments made by local women artisans and craftspeople to receive direct orders from major fashion houses and foreign exporters.
Under the One District One Cuisine (ODOC) scheme, launched to preserve the region’s culinary heritage, Rampur’s royal Habshi Halwa will be showcased to domestic and international visitors. Two renowned establishments from the district have been entrusted with responsibilities in the food zone of the Trade Show.
A live kitchen will be made available at the Trade Show premises where halwa will be prepared on a traditional furnace in front of visitors, giving them a direct experience of Rampur’s Nawabi flavors and rich culinary heritage.
Entrepreneurs from other sectors reflecting Rampur’s diversity have also been given space in prominent halls. Handicraft will showcase eco-friendly grass mats and traditional carpets which are in high demand in European countries.
Anurag Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Industries, District Industries and Enterprise Promotion Center said here on Thursday that," The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show will be a milestone for entrepreneurs and traditional artisans in the district. Through this international exhibition, businesses associated with Rampur’s ODOP products, Habshi Halwa, zari-patchwork, mentha and home furnishing will get direct access to global buyers and international investors. The department’s effort is to ensure these seven units receive the best possible platform and exposure during the Trade Show. As a result, the district’s products gain global recognition while boosting local employment and exports".
