Reliance Jio Platforms to launch 6G, take business model overseas, says MD Akash Ambani

Mumbai, Oct 15 (UNI) Reliance Jio Platforms Managing Director Akash Mukesh Ambani stated at its pre-IPO press conference here on Thursday, that the company plans to usher in the 6G era in India and take the company's successful business model to overseas markets, by partnering with other companies across the world.
“6G is on our horizon. What this really means is that we will do 6G as a software upgrade rather than a new infrastructure buildout,” Reliance Jio Platforms MD Akash Ambani said, addressing investors and other dignitaries.
Speaking about the company's plans to take its business model outside India, Akash Ambani said, “Our international road map is very different and a unique playbook that we are trying to pioneer in the world. What we think is the end-to-end technology stack that we have created, deployed and operated gives us an ability to partner with telecom partners across the world, and do this in a capex-like manner”.
Akash Ambani said that the plan is to be an end-to-end technology stack. Being a managed service partner to enable future growth vectors for our international partners would be the preferred model, he stated.
“We have the ability to do that. We have showcased it in India in one of the most complex markets. We believe there is a huge market opportunity all across the world including the developed and developing nations,” Jio Platforms MD Akash Ambani said at the pre-IPO press conference.
Akash Ambani stated that Jio would choose its international partners very carefully on the basis of the market opportunity, so that it would make a significant difference to the company's balance sheet.
“This is the intended monetisation capability that we have for our end-to-end technology stack as we go further and further into this in the coming years,” Akash Ambani said.
Speaking about the financial aspects of Jio Platforms, Akash Ambani said, “In the last three years, we had a revenue growth rate of 15%. Our revenue has grown to more than Rs 1,46,000 crore in the last three years. That is a growth of 15.8%.
"Our EBITDA has gone from 50% to 53% and our EBITDA growth is at Rs 54,000 crore to Rs 76,000 crore. That shows our business is in a very healthy state and at a high growth rate”.
Akash Ambani said that there is significant market opportunity across the mobility segment, the home segment, the enterprise segment, and the end-to-end monetisation of the company’s core technologies.
The proprietary end-to-end technology stack has given Jio Platforms the ability to play across the value chain and a potential for India to become an exporter of technology rather than an importer of technology, Reliance Jio Platforms MD Akash Ambani said.
