Resident Deputy Collector, Revenue Assistant in ACB net in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, May 27 (UNI) Sleuths of the anti corruption bureau (ACB) unit on Tuesday arrested the Resident Deputy Collector (RDC) and a Revenue Assistant for accepting bribe of Rs Five Lakh from a complainant.
According to ACB official sources, the alleged accused are identified as RDC Vinod Khirolkar (51) and a Revenue Assistant Dipak Tribhuvan (40).
Sources said that the complainant who had purchased above 6 acre class 2 land in Mauje Tisgaon Shivar and later applied it for converting into class 1 for which Khirolkar had sought Rs 23 and 18 lakh which totals to Rs 41 lakh from him. Of which the complainant has already paid Rs 23 lakh to the accused at the time of purchase.
For the rest of Rs 18 lakh, the accused again started demanding payment to the complainant in order to convert the land in to class1.
However, the complainant was reluctant to bribe them, so he approached the ACB unit and lodged a complaint against RDC. On the basis of the complaint, ACB team made an inquiry in which it was proved that the accused demanded bribe.
Finally, today the ACB team laid a trap in front of district collector office and nabbed Tribhuvan while accepting bribe of Rs 5 lakh from complainant on behalf of the RDC. Another team of ACB also arrested the RDC Khirolkar immediately after the arrest of Tribhuvan.
A complaint has been registered against both of them with Kranthi Chowk police station under various sections of the Anti-corruption Act and further investigation is progressing, they added.
