Rs 300 Cr approved for aided schools: Education Minister

Patna, Sep 20 (UNI) Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari on Sunday said that the state government has approved Rs 300 crore for 1,294 aided schools for the benefit of teaching and non-teaching staff.
According to Tiwari, Rs 60.92 crore has been approved for 695 secondary schools for the academic session 2019-20, while Rs 239.07 crore has been approved for 599 higher secondary schools for the academic sessions 2017-18 to 2019-20.
He said that when aided colleges are also included, the total approved amount comes to Rs 416 crore.
The minister said the funds have been approved keeping in mind the needs and interests of teachers and non-teaching employees working in financially unsupported institutions.
Tiwari thanked Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary for the initiative and said the state government is committed to strengthening the education system, protecting teacher's interests and ensuring the smooth functioning of educational institutions.
Teachers of aided schools and colleges welcomed the government's decision and expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and Education Minister.
