Sarsuna incident: Accused paraded shirtless during crime reconstruction

Kolkata, Oct 27 (UNI) In a shocking incident in Sarsuna, in the Behala area of south-west Kolkata, three men were allegedly forced to walk naked as punishment after a young man kissed his girlfriend, who is a minor.
On Tuesday, police took the girl's father Pradip Sarkar, maternal uncle Rahul Barman and another accused, allegedly the person who filmed the incident, to the spot for a reconstruction of the crime. The three were paraded through the locality shirtless, with ropes tied around their waists. Locals have demanded strict punishment for those involved.
Sarsuna police have arrested the minor girl's parents and maternal uncle in connection with the incident. The accused have been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for attempted murder, causing injury with a weapon, wrongful confinement and defamation, as well as under the Arms Act. A friend of the girl's maternal uncle reportedly spotted the couple in an intimate moment and informed her family.
The girl's parents and maternal uncle then allegedly summoned the young man and his friend and subjected them to harassment. The situation escalated when the young man's father was also called.
The accused allegedly threatened to shoot the three men if they refused to walk naked along the street. They were then forced to walk naked for around 50 metres through a lane in front of their home.
