Secularism is Hindu bashing : AP Dy CM Pawan Kalyan at Lord Muruga conf

Chennai, June 22 (UNI) Cautioning the forces that attempts to denigrate Hindu,
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan termed secularism as
Hindu bashing.
In an assertive speech, he said don't try to denounce the Hindus and their sentiments.
They will raise...Saadhu Mirandal Kaadu Kollathu (If the innocent erupts, even the forests
are not enough), he said, sending a strong message, while addressing at the Lord Muruga
Devotees conference organised by the Hindu Munnani and BJP at the temple town of
Madurai, in what is seen as a bid to consolidate the Hindu vote bank ahead of the key
Tamil Nadu Assembly polls due in ten months.
Those having a dig at Hindu religion and their gods would dare not speak against the
Muslims and Christians (because of vote bank), he said, taking an indirect dig at the
ruling DMK and said people have every right to celebrate their faith as enshrined in the
Constitution and none could stop or deny their rights.
Terming secularism as Hindu bashing, Mr Kalyan said atheists in the country were ridiculing
only Hindu gods but they had no guts to touch the Islam or Christianity, which have come
from the Arab region.
“The Constitution protects our Dharma. But, in the name of secularism, the atheistic crowd
continues to ridicule my god and culture which has come to be the norm of secularism in the
country", he said.
Questioning those targetting Hindu sentiments, he sought to know whether those political
parties, which had questioned holding this conference, have guts to to criticize the semitic
faiths?
"Leaders of some political party questioned why a conference for Murugan in Madurai and
why not in Uttar Pradesh or elsewhere. It is dangerous. Lord Murugan is a Tamil god, with
his presence all over the country and worshipped across the world. Don’t try to needle us.
If we retort, it will be uncontrollable,” he said, hitting out at the DMK and its vociferous allies,
without naming them, who had questioned holding this event in the name of God.
Declaring that Hindu forces would be consolidated by this conference and they were ready
to overcome any obstacles, Pawan took on the Dravidian rhetoric and said “If this army
(Hindu army) fails, who else can win”.
“I have every right to celebrate my faith...Lord Murugan is the first revolutionary leader
(In Tamil Nadu only late Chief Minister and matinee icon MGR had the honorific
‘revolutionary leader’) of the world since he had practiced equality and destroyed
injustice.
