Senior RSS leader Gurudas Shenoy killed in road accident in Karnataka

Udupi, Oct 26 (UNI) Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Gurudas Shenoy (65) was killed after a car hit his bicycle while he was crossing National Highway 66 at Kota Junction in Karnataka’s Udupi district on Monday morning, police said.
Shenoy, a resident of Kota Manuru, was heading towards the Amruteshwari temple when the accident occurred. The impact of the collision threw him off his bicycle, killing him on the spot.
The car was travelling from Udupi towards Kundapura when it hit the cyclist. The vehicle subsequently overturned due to the impact of the collision, leaving the driver seriously injured.
The driver was identified as Pradeep Kanchan, a resident of Beejadi in Koteshwara. He was shifted by ambulance to a private hospital in Brahmavar, where he is undergoing treatment.
Local residents rushed to the spot following the accident and helped transport the injured driver to hospital. Personnel from Kota police station visited the scene and initiated an investigation into the incident.
Further details regarding the circumstances of the accident were awaited.
