Seva Sankalp Abhiyan: Weaving 25 years of leadership and Service into Nationwide Celebration of Narendra Modi’s Journey and Vision

New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi approaches his 76th birthday on September 17, the Bharatiya Janata Party is gearing up for an ambitious nationwide campaign that masterfully blends the themes of service, development, and a landmark political journey spanning 25 years. Dubbed as Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, this expansive initiative is set to weave together grassroots welfare efforts, cultural festivities, youth engagement, and public celebrations, commemorating not only Modi’s birthday but also a quarter-century since he first took constitutional office.
Scheduled to run from September 17 to October 17, the campaign will launch with the observance of Modi’s birthday as Seva Diwas, transforming a personal milestone into a collective call for voluntary service. BJP workers and beneficiaries of government schemes are encouraged to light an earthen lamp called Aashirwad Ka Diya at their homes between 6 pm and 7 pm on the day—symbolizing goodwill, prayers for the Prime Minister’s longevity, and gratitude for his public service.
Across districts, the BJP’s organizational wings—including its vibrant youth cadre—will spearhead blood donation drives, cleanliness campaigns, tree plantations, and free health check-ups. The campaign’s broad fabric will be woven with welfare distributions, youth-centered initiatives, and community outreach, aiming to bring government schemes and the party’s development narrative closer to the people.
One striking feature of the campaign is Seva Mera Yogdan, urging citizens to dedicate 25 minutes to voluntary service across 25 thematic areas. Beneficiaries will share their stories through Seva Ki Kahani, illustrating how government programs have transformed their lives. Meanwhile, schoolchildren will engage in drawing and debate contests under the banner 25 Crore Bachchon Ke Sapnon Ka Bharat, envisioning the future of India. Complementing these are street plays under Namo Seva Gatha that will narrate Modi’s public life journey and tales of social change.
The campaign’s most poignant symbol will be the geographical and political journey connecting Vadnagar, Modi’s birthplace in Gujarat, to Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Youth-led yatras and motorcycle rallies will traverse multiple states, fostering dialogues with villagers, farmers, Anganwadi workers, students, and youth across the heartland.
A deeply symbolic ritual is planned where water from Gujarat’s rivers will be transported to Varanasi for jalabhishek at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, after which Ganga water will be carried back to Vadnagar—blending sacred tradition with political celebration, linking the Prime Minister’s origins with his electoral stronghold.
The presence of senior allies from the National Democratic Alliance, including Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu, at the launch events in Varanasi underscores the coalition’s political cohesion. Cultural exchange programs themed Unity in Diversity will encourage BJP functionaries to embrace the languages and traditions of states beyond their own, fostering national integration.
October 7 marks a pivotal date, commemorating 25 years since Modi was sworn in as Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001. Having served as Chief Minister until 2014 before becoming Prime Minister, now in his third consecutive term, Modi’s journey will be celebrated through Seva Jyoti programs, rallies, and pledges aligned with the aspirational Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
The campaign will also feature a Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, engaging digital creators and influencers in visits to around 50 locations spotlighted by the party as exemplars of transformation. The grand finale on October 17 will be the Jansevak Mahakumbh — Panchayat Se Parliament Tak, centered on Sushasan Seva Samvad, bringing together elected representatives from sarpanches to Members of Parliament.
With meticulous national oversight, the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan promises to blend festive celebration with organizational mobilization, narrating Modi’s political odyssey through the powerful vocabulary of service, sustained leadership, and the vision of a developed India.
