Sonipat: Kuwait delegation explores investment potential at Ganaur Horticulture Market

Ganaur (Sonipat), Oct 7 (UNI) A Kuwait delegation visited the India International Horticulture Market (IIHM) at Ganaur on Wednesday to assess investment and cooperation opportunities in Haryana, with the state pitching the ambitious project as a potential gateway for international trade in horticultural produce.
The delegation held discussions with senior Haryana officials on the market’s ongoing development, proposed infrastructure and the investment potential emerging around horticulture, food processing and logistics.
Chief Minister’s Adviser Pawan Chaudhary, Horticulture Department HOD (Special) Arjun Saini, Haryana International Horticulture Marketing Corporation Limited (HIHMCL) CEO Mohinder and Executive Engineer Vijender Singh were among the officials accompanying the delegation.
The visiting team was given a detailed presentation on IIHM Ganaur, including the facilities under development and the government’s plans to establish an integrated marketplace for fruits, vegetables and other perishable horticultural produce.
Officials said the project is being developed with a focus on modern marketing, efficient handling and better supply-chain management.
The delegation also inspected the trade and marketing sheds being developed at the complex.
HIHMCL CEO Mohinder explained the proposed facilities, their operational framework and their role in improving the movement and marketing of horticultural produce.
The Haryana side highlighted the potential of Ganaur to develop into a major centre linking farmers, traders, processors and buyers with wider domestic and international markets.
The project is intended to provide modern infrastructure for horticultural trade while creating opportunities for value addition and allied businesses.
Investment opportunities in horticulture, food processing and logistics were a key part of the discussions.
Officials briefed the Kuwait delegation about investment possibilities in these sectors and shared details of infrastructure and projects being developed in Haryana.
The visit also opened discussions on possible future cooperation between Kuwait and Haryana in horticulture trade, food processing, marketing and logistics.
The delegation showed interest in understanding the scale, infrastructure and commercial potential of the Ganaur project.
Officials described the interaction as an opportunity to showcase Haryana’s emerging horticulture infrastructure to international investors and explore avenues for deeper commercial cooperation.
The visit assumes significance for IIHM Ganaur as Haryana seeks to develop the project beyond a conventional wholesale market and to position it as an integrated platform for horticultural trade, marketing, and allied activities.
