Sonipat Police recover 31 missing mobile phones worth Rs 8 lakh

Sonipat, Nov 6 (UNI) Sonipat Police recovered 31 missing mobile phones worth approximately Rs 8 lakh during October and returned them to their rightful owners, Police Commissioner Mamta Singh said on Friday.
The recoveries were made by the Cyber Cell under the supervision of ACP (Cyber) Rajdeep Mor, using technical surveillance, digital analysis and the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.
A team led by Cyber Cell in-charge Sub-Inspector Kamal Singh traced the missing devices. The recovered phones were handed over to their owners during a programme organised on Friday.
According to a police spokesperson, the complaints were registered on the CEIR portal, which facilitates blocking and tracking of lost or stolen mobile phones, helping prevent their misuse and assist in recovery.
Sonipat Police have appealed to people to report missing mobile phones promptly on the CEIR portal and inform the nearest police station or Cyber Cell.
