South Central Railway collects Rs 4.65 lakh as penalty from unauthorised vendors

Hyderabad, May 6 (UNI) The South Central Railway (SCR) Vigilance Team and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have jointly conducted a special check against unauthorised vendors at Vijayawada Railway Station in Andhra Pradesh.The operation, which was conducted on Sunday, aimed to curb unregulated vending activities, which often contribute to overcrowding, hygiene concerns, and security risks, the railways said in a release here.
The RPF registered cases under relevant provisions of the Railways Act, and legal proceedings are underway against violators.
As a result of this initiative, the Railways collected around Rs 4,65,000 in penalties. UNI KNR SSP
