Spl drive launched in Arunachal to enrol left-out, young voters

Itanagar, Oct 8 (UNI) A special drive has been launched across Arunachal Pradesh to enrol eligible voters who were left out of the electoral roll, including young people who have attained the age of 18 years with October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date, following publication of the final electoral roll on September 22 last.
The drive is being undertaken in pursuance of instructions from the Election Commission of India (ECI) and will be conducted through the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) under the supervision of District Election Officers (DEOs), Joint Chief Electoral Officer Liken Koyu said.
As part of the exercise, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will organise special camps at polling stations across the State, with the assistance of other field-level functionaries, to facilitate enrolment of eligible citizens, including those who may have been left out during the Special Intensive Revision process.
The Chief Electoral Officer, Arunachal Pradesh, said voter enrolment is a continuous process and eligible persons who have not been enrolled in the electoral roll, or whose names have been deleted, can apply for enrolment at any time.
The special drive will particularly focus on facilitating the enrolment of left-out eligible electors as well as young and first-time voters who have attained 18 years of age as on the qualifying date but are yet to be included in the electoral roll. Eligible applicants will be assisted in submitting Form 6 for inclusion of their names.
The CEO has urged all eligible citizens to take advantage of the special camps and ensure that their names are included in the electoral roll.
The ECI reiterated its commitment to ensuring that “every eligible elector is added and no ineligible entries remain in the electoral roll.”
