Sudipto Sen's film 'Charak' rocks at Cannes 2025

Cannes, May 27 (UNI) Filmmaker Sudipto Sen's cinematic venture "Charak" captivated a packed auditorium during its prestigious screening at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, earning thunderous applause and critical plaudits for its haunting aesthetic and compelling narrative rooted in Indian folklore.
Touted as one of the most talked about films of the year 2025, "Charak" has created tremendous curiosity among the audience since its announcement. Known for his provocative narratives, Sen, celebrated for his previous success "The Kerala Story", marks his debut as a producer under his new banner, Sipping Tea Cinemas, with this folklore-inspired horror mystery thriller.
Following a widely praised reception at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, "Charak's" Cannes screening drew a full house. Critics hailed the film's narrative complexity, striking visual palette and and atmospheric intensity and even heaped praises on Sen on being one of the most promising filmmakers of India currently.
