Akhilesh Yadav not to contest UP assembly polls like did in 2012

Varanasi, Nov 3 (UNI) Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday announced that he will not contest the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Speaking to the media here, he responded to the question about contesting the assembly elections, saying, "We become chief ministers when we don''t contest elections."

Akhilesh''s statement is being seen as a reflection of his political strategy ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. His response suggests that he may focus on campaigning and leading the party rather than running for office himself.
