Tejaswi calls for resolve to eradicate unemployment, poverty, migration and misgovernance from Bihar on Vijayadashami

Patna, Oct 20 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national working president Tejaswi Yadav Tuesday called upon the people of Bihar to resolve, on the occasion of Vijayadashami, to eliminate unemployment, illiteracy, poverty, migration, crime, corruption, bureaucratic high-handedness, floods, drought and misgovernance from the state.
Extending his heartfelt greetings to the people on the occasion of Vijayadashami and Dussehra, Yadav said the festival symbolised the triumph of good over evil and should inspire people to collectively uproot the ten-headed demon of the various social and administrative challenges confronting Bihar.
He urged people to take a pledge to establish a robust system centred on education, healthcare, employment, irrigation, public grievance redressal and accountability, stressing that these were essential for ensuring a better quality of life for ordinary citizens.
Yadav said Bihar continued to remain the most backward state in the country in terms of per capita income, while a significant section of the population was still deprived of basic facilities such as quality schools, roads and hospitals.
Citing government records, he claimed that around four crore people from Bihar migrate every year in search of employment, highlighting the scale of the state's job crisis and the need to create adequate livelihood opportunities within the state.
Referring to malnutrition and public health concerns, the RJD leader said anaemia among women and stunted growth among children remained serious challenges in Bihar due to inadequate access to balanced diets and proper nutrition.
He also expressed concern over incidents of crime against girls reported on roads in recent days and questioned the state government's handling of law and order. He raised concerns over corruption and the prevailing administrative situation, calling for effective measures to ensure public safety and accountable governance.
Yadav said Bihar needed a system in which every individual had access to employment and every household could lead a life of dignity and prosperity.
Emphasising the principles of 'padhai, dawai, kamai, sinchai, sunwai aur karwai' (education, healthcare, employment, irrigation, grievance redressal and action), he said these priorities should form the foundation of governance and provide relief to people in education, healthcare, employment, agriculture and access to justice.
Conveying his best wishes to the people of Bihar and the country, Yadav expressed hope that the spirit of Vijayadashami would inspire collective efforts to overcome the state's longstanding social, economic and administrative challenges.
