Tejaswi vows to fight ‘Authoritarian Government’ on JP’s birth anniversary

Patna, Oct 11 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national working president Tejaswi Yadav on Sunday vowed to continue his struggle until "arrogant, authoritarian and undemocratic" government was removed from power.

Yadav accused the Centre of suppressing democratic and constitutional rights and alleged that the country was witnessing a situation akin to an undeclared Emergency.
The RJD leader alleged that a peaceful, democratic and constitutional movement had been brutally suppressed through the use of force, including lathi-charge, bullets and abusive language, a day before Jayaprakash Narayan’s birth anniversary.
He further claimed that people travelling to Delhi to raise their voices in defence of their rights had been stopped by the government machinery and police.
Reaffirming his resolve on the occasion, Yadav said he would not rest until the government, which he accused of authoritarian and undemocratic conduct, was uprooted.
Challenging the government, he asserted that neither bullets nor abuse could intimidate him, adding that the use of government machinery and alleged political manoeuvres would not deter his struggle.
Yadav also referred to verses written by Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar in honour of Jayaprakash Narayan, saying the spirit of the poet’s work would now be reflected on the streets.
Quoting Dinkar’s lines celebrating Jayaprakash Narayan as a symbol of youthful determination and sacrifice, the RJD leader said people across the country were mobilising against what he described as unconstitutional and undemocratic politics.
He further alleged that the government’s political foundation rested on vote theft and claimed that people, including the younger generation, were taking to the streets to challenge it.
