Telangana CM launches Rs 12,600 crore

Nagarkurnool (Telangana), May 19 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited Macharam village in Amrabad Mandal of Nagarkurnool district on Monday to launch the ambitious Rs 12,600 crore “Indira Saura Giri Jal Vikasam” scheme, aimed at enhancing irrigation and water accessibility in tribal and remote areas through solar-powered solutions.

As part of the initiative, the state government will provide a 100 per cent subsidy of Rs 6 lakh per unit to eligible beneficiaries. During the launch event, the Chief Minister distributed solar pump sets to farmers and other beneficiaries.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Ministers N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Damodar Rajanarasimha, also visited farmers’ fields to inspect the implementation of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems.

The Chief Minister interacted with the beneficiaries of the scheme, who expressed their happiness and gratitude for the government's support.

He stated that steps would be taken to generate additional income by installing solar panels in agricultural fields alongside the solar pump sets.

Revanth Reddy emphasised the importance of spreading awareness about the scheme among tribal communities and suggested that the Achampet constituency be developed as a model for the entire country.
