Telangana: CM Reddy releases Rythu Bharosa funds, reaffirms unwavering commitment to farmers

Hyderabad, June 16 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy launched the disbursement of Rythu Bharosa (Farmer Assurance) scheme funds during the ‘Rythu Nestham’ programme held at Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University on Monday evening.
In a major step towards farmer welfare, the Chief Minister electronically transferred the funds directly into farmers’ bank accounts, reaffirming his government’s commitment to the agricultural sector.
He announced that the government would deposit Rs 9,000 crore over a span of nine days as part of the Farmer Assurance initiative and highlighted that his administration has invested Rs one lakh crore in agriculture within just 18 months.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, several Ministers, Government Advisors, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, senior officials, and farmers from across the state were present at the event.
The occasion also marked the launch of video conferencing facilities at 1,034 Rythu Vedikas, increasing the number of digitally connected farmer platforms to 1,600 across Telangana.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister declared, “No one can gain power without the blessings of farmers. Be it an MLA, MP, or CM—it is the farmer who makes it possible.”
He strongly criticised the previous government for mismanagement and financial misgovernance. “In the last ten years, they burdened the state with a debt of Rs 8.2 lakh crore, left key promises like fee reimbursement and loan waivers unfulfilled, and handed over a damaged economy,” he said.
Outlining his government’s pro-farmer initiatives, Revanth Reddy said, “Our government is committed to purchasing every last grain of paddy grown by farmers. We’ve encouraged the cultivation of millets, announced a Rs 500 bonus per quintal, and thanks to these efforts, Telangana is now the top state in rice production.”
He also directed the Chief Secretary to facilitate the distribution of solar pump sets and increase awareness about commercial cropping among farmers. “Land is the self-respect of the farmer. This government stands firmly with them,” he asserted.
Aiming at the opposition, the CM challenged them to participate in open debates in Grama Sabhas. “We’ve created conditions where farmers live with dignity, not despair. Let the opposition come and face the people,” he declared.

Revanth Reddy said the Congress government would stand strong for the next ten years, undeterred by protests or criticisms.
“No matter how many 'dharnas' they stage or clothes they tear, we are here to serve the farmers of Telangana,” he added, receiving resounding applause from the audience.
