Telangana: Governor to launch plantation of 35,000 cashew saplings along NH-765DG

Hyderabad, Oct 5 (UNI) Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will visit Medak district on Tuesday and launch a plantation drive involving 35,000 cashew saplings along the national highway between Ramayampet and Siddipet.
The plantation programme, being taken up under the aegis of Medak MP Madhavaneni Raghunandan Rao, will cover the NH-765DG stretch and aims to make productive use of available land along the highway while increasing green cover and promoting environmental sustainability, an official release said here.
The Governor will formally launch the programme at 3.30 p.m. near the Swami Vivekananda statue close to Amogh Hotel in Ramayampet and participate in the programme till 4.30 p.m.
As part of his visit, Shukla will arrive at the Integrated District Offices Complex (IDOC) at 2.30 p.m. and flag off the Nasha Mukt Bharat rally at 2.40 p.m.
The rally will focus on creating awareness, particularly among youth, about the harmful consequences of drug abuse.
The Governor will subsequently interact with students at the IDOC.
At 2.50 p.m., he will visit the Mahila Shakti stalls at the IDOC and interact with members of Self-Help Groups.
He will also meet newly elected representatives of the Indian Red Cross Society.
Shukla will leave the IDOC at 3 p.m. for Ramayampet and reach the plantation programme venue at 3.30 p.m.
