Telangana Govt aims to become USD 3 trillion economy by 2047: Bhatti Vikramarka

Hyderabad, Nov 4 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday said Telangana was aiming to become a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047, with a strong focus on deep technology, innovation, manufacturing and skill development.
Addressing the FICCI@100 Celebrations and Telangana Deep-Tech Leadership Summit held at ITC Kakatiya in Begumpet, he said the government was committed to creating an enabling ecosystem for industries through progressive policies, infrastructure development and public-private partnerships.
He said Hyderabad had strong capabilities in information technology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, aerospace and engineering, and the challenge was to bring researchers, industries and entrepreneurs together to convert innovations into commercially viable products. He called upon FICCI to work with research institutions, businesses and government departments to help promising technologies reach their first customers.
Highlighting the importance of collaboration between industry and research institutions, Bhatti said shared testing facilities, certification support and carefully designed pilot projects would help innovative ideas prove their potential and reach the market. He also stressed the need to develop technologies in renewable energy, electricity storage, healthcare and agriculture to address practical challenges and improve productivity.
He invited industry leaders and investors to participate in the Telangana Global Summit scheduled to be held at Bharat Future City from December 7 to 9.
IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said FICCI had played a significant role in India's industrial and economic development over the past century by providing a common platform for business leaders and facilitating constructive engagement between industry and governments.
Congratulating the organisation on its centenary celebrations, he said Telangana had a strong focus on deep technology and was keen to emerge as a global hub for innovation and manufacturing.
He said the government was placing particular emphasis on developing a skilled workforce to meet the requirements of emerging industries. As part of this initiative, the government had invested around Rs. 2,400 crore in modernising 65 Industrial Training Institutes and transforming them into advanced technology training centres. The centres would equip young people with skills in artificial intelligence, robotics and data analytics to meet the requirements of modern manufacturing.
Sridhar Babu said the Young India Skills University was another important initiative aimed at bridging the gap between industry and academia. Training programmes were being designed in consultation with industry leaders across 33 sectors, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, life sciences and real estate, to ensure that young people acquired skills relevant to employment opportunities.
He also called upon established business houses to collaborate with young entrepreneurs and invest in emerging technologies, including space technology, drug discovery and artificial intelligence. Stressing the importance of domestic innovation, he said India should move beyond importing technology and focus on developing its own products and exporting value-added goods. He invited industry leaders to bring their ideas and investments to Telangana and become partners in the state's growth journey.
Engineering Founder and Managing Director V. V. Rama Raju said FICCI, established in 1927, had played a significant role in India's industrial and economic development by promoting trade, investment and entrepreneurship. He said Telangana had emerged as an important destination for IT, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, research and manufacturing.
He stressed the need for stronger collaboration between the government, industry and academic institutions to promote innovation, expand manufacturing and develop local talent. He said the summit would provide a platform for industry leaders, investors and researchers to explore opportunities in deep-tech sectors and strengthen Telangana's position as a global innovation hub.
FICCI Past President and Apollo Hospitals Joint Managing Director Dr. Sangita Reddy, FTCCI President K. K. Maheshwari, and FICCI Telangana State Council Co-Chairman and Sudhakar Group Director also spoke on the occasion.
