Telangana Govt prioritising temple development and welfare: Dy CM Bhatti

Khammam, Oct 18 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said the Telangana government was prioritising temple development, public welfare and infrastructure projects across the State.
He laid the foundation stone for a Rs 44-crore access road to the Adbhuta Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Nacharam in Enkooru mandal, Khammam district. He said the road would facilitate devotees and boost local businesses and employment, crediting Wyra MLA Maloth Ramdas Naik for securing funds.
Bhatti Vikramarka said temple development works worth Rs 2,500 crore were being undertaken across the State, including Rs 2,000 crore for riverbanks and temples ahead of the Godavari Pushkaram, Rs 276 crore for Bhadrachalam Temple and Rs 354 crore for the Basara Saraswati Temple.
Highlighting welfare schemes, he said fine-quality rice was being supplied to 1.06 crore families, Aarogyasri offered medical coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh per family, Rythu Bharosa benefited 71 lakh farmers, and 53 lakh families received up to 200 units of free electricity. The government was also implementing housing assistance of Rs 5 lakh per eligible household under Indiramma Indlu, besides providing pensions, free bus travel, and interest-free loans to women.
He said breakfast was being provided to 27 lakh government-school students, while diet and cosmetic charges in residential schools had been increased by 40 and 200 per cent, respectively. Young India Integrated Residential Schools, costing around Rs 200 crore each, were being established in every constituency, with one sanctioned for Wyra. An Advanced Technology Centre had also been allocated to the region.
The Deputy Chief Minister said road projects worth Rs 90,000 crore were underway despite a debt burden of Rs 8.20 lakh crore and monthly principal and interest repayments of Rs 6,600 crore. He urged people to conserve water in view of the possible impact of El Niño and asked farmers to check groundwater levels before operating pumps. He also assured consideration of a new BT road connecting Gannavaram, Nacharam and Bhadra Thanda to the Tallada–Bhadrachalam main road via Julurupadu.
The meeting was presided over by MLA Maloth Ramdas Naik. SUDA Chairman Puvalla Durga Prasad, former MLC Potla Nageswara Rao, and DCC President Nuthi Satyanarayana attended.
