Telangana Govt raises interest-free loan limit for women SHGs to Rs 10 lakh

Hyderabad, May 7 (UNI) Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Women & Child Welfare Seethakka on Thursday announced that the interest-free loan limit for women’s self-help groups (SHGs) in the state would be increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
Addressing a programme held at Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan for the unveiling of the Annual Credit Plan for 2026–27, the minister said the state government would bear the interest burden on bank loans availed by eligible SHGs up to Rs 10 lakh.
She said the government had set a target of facilitating credit access worth Rs 26,621.47 crore for women’s groups during 2026–27, while loans amounting to Rs 25,228.89 crore were disbursed during the previous financial year.
