Telangana: Singareni Collieries Accident Insurance Scheme is a model for the nation: DyCM Bhatti

Hyderabad, June 28 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu today stated that the Rs 1.20 crore accident insurance scheme being implemented in Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) should serve as a model not only for public sector undertakings but also for all states across the country.
As part of the free accident insurance scheme being implemented in Singareni following the directions of the State Government, Bhatti handed over a cheque for Rs 1.20 crore to the family of a worker who recently lost his life in an accident, at a event held at Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan, here,
The Deputy Chief Minister presented the cheque to Latha, the wife of the deceased worker Pendri Ranjith Kumar, who worked as a support man in the Ramagundam-1 Area of Singareni.
Ranjith Kumar had a salary account in the State Bank of India (SBI) and recently passed away in a road accident. Following the nomination made by the deceased, an insurance amount of Rs 1.20 crore has been paid to his wife under the accident insurance scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said the scheme was introduced to ensure financial security for the families of workers in the event of unforeseen accidents so that they do not fall into distress.
He also assured that compassionate appointment papers would be provided soon to the deceased worker’s family.
Principal Secretary of the Energy Department Mr. Naveen Mittal, Singareni Chairman and Managing Director N. Balaram, REDCO Vice Chairperson & Managing Director Ms. Aneela, SBI DGM Ms. Neelakshi Singh, Regional Manager Suresh Kumar, Executive Director (Coal Movement) S.D.M. Subhani, and other officials participated in the programme.
