Telangana: TGSRTC appeals to employees to avoid strike

Hyderabad, May 5 (UNI) The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) on Monday appealed to its employees, urging them to stand united and avoid actions that could jeopardise the organisation's progress, including any strike activity.
In a message to all RTC personnel, the management expressed its deep appreciation for the dedication, discipline, and commitment displayed by employees across the state. With their collective effort, TGSRTC has been successfully transporting 60 lakh passengers daily, earning the public’s trust and support.
The management emphasised that TGSRTC's financial health remains fragile, and any strike at this critical juncture would inflict irreparable damage on the organisation and its workforce.
Citing the 2019 strike, which resulted in the loss of 39 employees and a deep financial crisis exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the RTC urged employees not to repeat past mistakes.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar have expressed their support for resolving employee grievances through dialogue and cooperation. The management warned that strikes are prohibited under the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) and company rules, and legal action will be taken against those who incite or force others to participate in illegal protests.
It may be noted that the employees of TGSRTC have issued a notice to go on strike from May 7. UNI VV SSP
