Telangana to launch all central kitchens for government school breakfast scheme on Dec 9

Hyderabad, Oct 2 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday announced that all central kitchens being established across the state to provide nutritious breakfast to government school students would be inaugurated simultaneously on December 9.
The Chief Minister directed officials to complete construction and other works at all the central kitchens by November 30.
He also instructed them to link the kitchens to the Command Control Centre to facilitate regular monitoring and suggested making arrangements for students to visit the facilities.
At a meeting with representatives of the Hare Krishna Foundation at his Jubilee Hills residence here, two companies --Junna Solar Systems Private Limited and Chain Labs India Private Limited- signed agreements with the foundation to support the breakfast scheme in the presence of the Chief Minister.
Revanth Reddy stressed the need to ensure that students were served quality and nutritious food to improve their well-being and encourage regular attendance at government schools.
He directed officials to maintain records of students' physical growth and academic progress to monitor their development regularly.
He also called for developing a mobile application to calculate the calorie content of the food served to students.
The Chief Minister, who reviewed the proposed breakfast menu and suggested that it be prepared in accordance with regional dietary habits.
He emphasised that the breakfast scheme was a long-term programme and required careful planning and implementation.
Junna Solar Systems and Chain Labs India are collaborating to establish modern centralised community kitchens in Nagarkurnool and Vikarabad, respectively.
Shekhar Reddy, CMD, and Anil Babu, CEO of Junna Solar Systems, handed over a cheque for Rs 5.17 crore to the Hare Krishna Foundation towards the central kitchen in Nagarkurnool.
Samantha Day, representative, and B Santosh Kumar, vice-president of Chain Labs India, presented a cheque for Rs 4 crore to the foundation for the construction of a central kitchen in Vikarabad.
The Chief Minister appreciated the companies for extending financial support to the breakfast scheme.
Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Rajya Sabha member Vem Narendar Reddy, Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Sridhar and Hare Krishna Foundation representative Satya Gaura Chandra Das Swamiji attended the meeting.
