Telemedicine and Telenursing workshop held at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Govt Medical College, Tanda

Kangra, May 27 (UNI) A workshop on 'Telemedicine and Telenursing Practical Guidelines' was organised today at the Nursing College of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (Dr. RPGMC), Kangra. The event was conducted in collaboration with the Telemedicine Society of India (TSI).
The workshop aimed to familiarise healthcare professionals and nursing students with the evolving landscape of digital health, tele consultation processes, and the integration of telehealth in nursing practices. Key discussions during the workshop included ethical guidelines, teleconsultation protocols, and nurse-led digital health initiatives
Dr. Milap Sharma, Principal of Dr. RPGMC, in his inaugural speech lauded the initiative of the Telemedicine Society and emphasised that digital health technologies play a crucial role in delivering quality healthcare to the last mile. He also highlighted the significant role of nursing professionals in this mission.
Dr. Umashankar, National Honorary Secretary of TSI, stated in his address that telemedicine not only expands healthcare access but also contributes to the overall well-being of society. He stressed the importance of linking healthcare delivery with digital tools.
Suman Bodh, Principal of the Nursing College, said that nursing officers are a vital part of the "doorstep health" mission. She underlined the need for continuous training and the integration of telehealth principles into nursing education.
Also present at the event were Dr. Nanish Sharma, Honorary Secretary of TSI Himachal Chapter, and Dr. Shyam Bhandari, Joint Secretary and Treasurer of the chapter. Faculty members and final-year B.Sc. Nursing students actively participated in the workshop.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to the successful participants.
