TGiCCC conducts monsoon preparedness training for JATs in Hyd

Hyderabad, June 28 (UNI) The Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC) conducted a comprehensive Monsoon Preparedness Training session for all nominated Joint Action Teams (JATs) on Saturday at its auditorium in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
The training was held under the supervision of TGiCCC Director Sri V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, IPS (Retd.).
A total of 465 personnel, including in-charge officers from departments such as Traffic Police, TGSPDCL, HMWS&SB, GHMC, and HYDRAA, participated in the session. The primary focus was on ensuring a swift and coordinated response to monsoon-related challenges, particularly at 141 identified waterlogging points within GHMC limits.
The training addressed key responsibilities such as clearing rainwater, managing sewerage, removing fallen trees, restoring electricity, repairing roads, and regulating traffic during heavy rainfall. To enhance coordination, the JATs will be connected via the MONSOON JAT TGICCC WhatsApp group and the centre’s 24x7 communication network, including a dedicated control room (8712674000) and social media platforms.
Prominent speakers included Smt K Pushpa, SP, TGICCC; Major Sahli Randhawa, SC; SDamodhar Singh, Dy. Commandant, NDRF; and motivational speaker Sri Pradeep. They emphasised the need for inter-agency coordination, strict adherence to SOPs, and proactive response measures.
Participants were urged to rectify the shortcomings observed during the previous monsoon season and improve response mechanisms. The session followed a high-level meeting on monsoon preparedness held on May 26, 2025, with top officials from key state departments.
TGiCCC reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Hyderabad’s disaster management systems through continuous training and multi-agency collaboration, an official statement said.
