TN in command after spinner Sachin Rathi bags 6-for, restricts ROI to 179 in CK Nayudu Trophy

Chennai, Oct 1 (UNI) Hosts and champions Tamil Nadu was in command after restricting Rest of India (ROI) to 179, thanks to left arm spinner Sachin Rathi's six wicket haul, in the C.K.Nayudu Trophy cricket match at the M.A.Chidambaram stadium here on Thursday.
Tamil Nadu were 45 for no loss with S.R.Athish hitting an unbeaten 35 with seven fours.
Earlier batting first on a hot and humid day, ROI lost wickets at regular intervals, struggled to make runs and were bowled our for 179 in 71.5 overs.
Except a fighting half century by opener Angkrish Rahuvanshi (51) and 40-plus scores by Priyanshu Moliya and Varun Bhuie down the order after the team was reduced to 103 for six by the 32nd over, rest of the batting order fell to the guiles of Sachin Rathi.
In reply, got off a strong start as the ROI bowlers have a tough job on hands to restrict the CKN trophy winners.
