Tollywood Actor Mahesh Babu joins gaming studio Shortgun Games as strategic investor

Hyderabad, Nov 3 (UNI) Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu has joined Mumbai-based gaming development studio Shortgun Games as a strategic investor to support the development of original video game franchises for PC and modern console platforms.
The collaboration will focus on creating original intellectual properties (IPs), including the studio's flagship project, PROJECT TAKEDOWN, a high-budget, action-adventure game targeting international markets, including North America, Europe and the UK, the company said in a release on Tuesday.
Shortgun Games co-founders Jeet Chandan and Vidhit Mehta said the partnership would help strengthen the studio's technical and creative capabilities to develop high-quality interactive entertainment for global audiences.
Vidhit Mehta said Mahesh Babu's association as a strategic investor marked an important milestone for the studio, while Jeet Chandan said the partnership would support its ambition to build cross-media franchises with global appeal.
Mahesh Babu said interactive entertainment offered an opportunity to combine storytelling, technology and global culture, adding that he was keen to support young creators in developing original characters and cinematic worlds for international audiences.
The studio has brought on Indian action director Vicky Arora, who has worked on films including Uri: The Surgical Strike, RRR and Tanaav, to lead the action design for PROJECT TAKEDOWN.
Arora's team is overseeing motion-capture choreography, combat pre-visualisation and physical stunt mechanics to develop the game's action sequences.
