Total eradication of terrorism is our top priority: LG Sinha

Jammu, June 16 (UNI) Asserting that he is proud of valiant personnel and officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said that a complete eradication of terrorism from the soil of Jammu and Kashmir is the top priority of his administration.

"I am proud of our valiant personnel and officers of JKP. The entire nation looks at our police force with admiration and respect for professional competence, for successful handling of security challenges on multiple fronts and for ruthlessly combating terrorism," Sinha said.

The Lieutenant Governor was speaking at the passing-out parade of the Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySsP) and Probationer Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy at Udhampur.

"The skilful and synchronised parade heralds a new dawn in the lives of 49 DySsP and 1,112 PSIs, and I call upon them to uphold the values, traditions and ethos of J&K Police," he said.

Sinha said, "Complete eradication of terrorism from the soil of Jammu and Kashmir is our top priority. Our mighty warriors of JKP must adopt a multi-pronged approach and harness the power of intelligence, community engagement, technology, and inter-agency collaboration."

"Our ancient values focus on truth, justice, morality, law and good governance and need to be protected and nurtured in the society by J&K Police," the Lieutenant Governor said.

He said the brave personnel must protect the society in every possible way to ensure peace, development and stability.
