Tripura minister reviewed power situation; assured uninterrupted electricity during Durga Puja

Agartala, Oct 3 (UNI) Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath reviewed the state’s preparations to ensure a steady electricity supply during the Durga Puja celebrations.
The meeting focused on preventing outages and keeping power available to consumers throughout the festival beginning on Oct 15.
With large crowds expected across Tripura, Nath called for stronger preparation on the ground.
He asked officials to stay alert and take steps to prevent technical faults or other problems from disrupting supply.
The Minister reviewed the electricity department’s plans and discussed ways to reduce the risk of outages.
He directed officials to spot possible faults early and fix them before the festival begins. The aim is to prevent avoidable disruptions, rather than wait until a problem occurs.
Nath also stressed the need for enough staff and equipment during the festive period.
Field teams must be ready to handle issues as they arise, especially near major Puja events and public gatherings.
He called for TSECL to strengthen its response system so complaints and technical faults receive prompt attention.
Officials and field teams must stay in close contact, identify emerging problems quickly and take action without delay.
The assessment of electricity demand during Durga Puja festival is currently underway.
Consistent with prior years' practices, power procurement will be sourced from the designated allocations provided by the neighbouring states of Mizoram and Meghalaya.
Should additional capacity be required, supplementary electricity will be acquired from alternative sources to guarantee an uninterrupted and reliable power supply, Nath stated.
The Minister also asked for continuous monitoring during the celebrations, with special attention to places expected to draw large crowds.
A quick response will help limit inconvenience and keep electricity services running as usual.
A stable power supply is needed for Puja pandals, public spaces, markets and other key sites across Tripura. Nath urged TSECL staff to stay committed and responsive, working together to prevent avoidable power issues from affecting consumers.
He directed officials to maintain round-the-clock readiness throughout the festival. Field teams must be prepared to address technical faults and other challenges whenever they arise. UNI BB SAS
