Two Delhi Women Arrested with Over 1.8 Kg Cannabis at Mumbai Airport

Mumbai, Oct 26 (UNI) Airport Customs officials arrested two women from Delhi at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on Monday after recovering 1.874 kg of cannabis from their luggage following their arrival from Bangkok.
According to officials, the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) intercepted the passengers, identified as Neetu and Rajni, in separate intelligence-led operations. A search of Neetu’s baggage resulted in the seizure of 910 grams of cannabis packed in four plastic packets, while 964 grams were recovered from Rajni’s luggage in three packets.
Both women were questioned, and their statements recorded. They admitted to failing to declare and concealing the contraband. They were subsequently arrested under relevant provisions of the law, including the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Investigations are underway to identify their handlers and other associates and determine whether the two cases are linked to a common international drug-smuggling network operating through Bangkok.
