Two girls from Manipur among the plane crash victims

Imphal, June 12 (UNI ) Two girls, both crew of the ill fated Air India flight which crashed on Thursday were from Manipur.
Family members of Kongbrailatpam Nganthoi Sharma a Meitei from Thoubal district got the news and were shocked and were not in a position to speak. The second one among three siblings ,all girls Nganthoi was a bright student. A video went viral in Manipur where Nganthoi is seen smiling with another crew member as she was preparing for the flight on Thursday.
Singson Lamnunthem a Kuki girl ,a resident of Imphal West, now living at Kangpokpi also was serving as a crew member in the plane. Both girls spoke to their family members in the morning. Large numbers of people including Surjakumar Okram , MLA visited Nganthoi’s home and shared the grief and sorrow of the bereaved family. The family members were in shock and not in a position to speak.
Governor of Manipur , AK Bhalla expressed deep sorrow over the tragic and shocking incident of an aircraft crash that occurred during a flight from Ahmedabad to London. He prayed to the Almighty for the speedy recovery of all those injured in this unfortunate mishap. Former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said in a social media platform “I am deeply shocked and grieved by the tragic Air India flight crash near Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all those on board and their families.”
