Stay vigilant, always a step ahead of enemy forces: Arunachal Guv to troops

Itanagar, June 13 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik concluded a three-day tour of key military establishments across Assam, reaffirming his deep engagement with the armed forces in the region.
The Governor visited Rangia, Missamari, Thakurbari, and Tezpur military stations, where he interacted extensively with officers, troops, and senior military leadership. The visit culminated with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the 4 Corps War Memorial in Tezpur on Friday.
A former commander of the Northern Army and corps commander of the prestigious IV Corps, Tezpur, Governor Parnaik brought his deep operational experience and strategic insight to his interactions, encouraging the troops to remain ever prepared for emerging challenges.
Addressing the troops, he emphasized the need for constant vigilance, operational readiness, and proactive thinking in light of the region’s evolving security dynamics. “Stay vigilant, stay resolute, and always be one step ahead of adversarial forces,” he urged.
Highlighting the importance of strategic foresight, the Governor encouraged the adoption of innovative and unconventional ideas for dealing with hostile neighbours, encouraging officers to think beyond conventional frameworks while addressing evolving security threats.
He also stressed the significance of perception management in forward areas, calling for balanced communication and composure in unpredictable situations.
Focusing on the ground realities of border management, the Governor offered valuable guidance on enhancing basic combat skills and maintaining high standards of operational discipline. He called upon the troops to sharpen their tactical acumen, fortify morale, and uphold the core values of duty and honour that the Indian Army is known for.
One of the key messages delivered by the Governor was the importance of building strong ties with local communities residing in remote and border regions.
“Our border residents are the extended eyes and ears of the nation,” he said, urging the armed forces to cultivate trust and mutual respect with local populations, especially in culturally sensitive zones.
