Two jail warders held in Assam district for allegedly raping specially abled woman

Guwahati, May 23 (UNI) The police have arrested two jail warders in Assam's Sribhumi district on Saturday for their alleged involvement in gang raping a specially abled woman.
The incident took place at the district Jail in Sribhumi where the two accused called the homeless women to the jail premises and gang raped her. The duo were later caught by a police patrolling team.
The victim is a homeless women who keeps on loitering in the streets of Sribhumi.
Both the accused were arrested and would be produced in the court, said a senior police officer.
The victim is a homeless women and she was alone on the streets. At around 1.30 am on Saturday, the two jail warders saw her and took advantage of the situation by dragging her to their quarter located in the jail premises.
Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) of Sribhumi, Pranab Kalita confirmed the incident and said that the police have arrested the two accused Hareswar Kalita and Gajendra Kalita.
