UP Deputy CM suspends Sultanpur Project Director Ashok Kumar Singh

Lucknow, Sep 17 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has suspended Ashok Kumar Singh, Project Director, District Rural Development Agency, Sultanpur, with immediate effect and ordered a thorough investigation against him.

This action has been taken based on his prima facie finding of conduct derogatory to the dignity of a government office, objectionable behavior with subordinate staff, and failure to properly discharge his official duties, including disobeying the instructions of senior officers, officials here on Thursday said..

The above actions constitute a violation of Rule 3 of the Uttar Pradesh Government Servants Conduct Rules, 1956. Given the seriousness of the matter, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Ashok Kumar Singh under Rule 7 of the Uttar Pradesh Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1999, and a thorough investigation has been ordered. Clear instructions have been given for strict action against officers and employees who display negligence, indiscipline, or indifference in discharging their official duties.

He stated that the state government's top priority is public welfare and public service. Effective implementation of government schemes and providing timely and transparent services to the public is the responsibility of every officer and employee. Negligence or indiscipline at any level will not be tolerated.
The Deputy Chief Minister clarified that ensuring the benefits of the double-engine government's public welfare schemes reach the lowest rung of the ladder is the primary responsibility of officials. Strict action will continue against officers and employees who show a disregard for public service, negligence in government work, and indiscipline. The suspension of the Sultanpur Project Director is an example of action taken under this policy.
